Phase Boxes
Phase boxes are a conservator's choice for protecting fragile or valuable books. Made to the exact dimensions of the volume they will house, each box wraps the book securely while allowing easy removal without stress to the binding.
We cover phase boxes in a wide selection of book cloths and decorative papers, and can block a title, name or design onto the spine or lid using our in-house type or a block made from your artwork.

A slipcase presents a book beautifully while keeping it dust-free on the shelf. The spine remains visible, making it ideal for limited editions, gift books, and collector's sets where the binding itself is part of the display.
Slipcases can be made as a single unit or as a matching set for multi-volume works. Covering materials are chosen to complement or contrast with the book's own binding.

Drop-back Boxes
Drop-back boxes — sometimes called clamshell boxes — open flat to give full access to the contents, making them the preferred choice for storing prints, photographs, maps, and archival documents. The two-part construction means the item is never forced in or out.
We make drop-back boxes to any size and can line the interior with archival tissue or a contrasting paper. Covering options range from plain book cloth to decorative Japanese papers.

For paperwork, loose sheets, certificates and correspondence, a well-made folder keeps contents flat, protected and easy to retrieve. We produce a range of styles — from simple two-flap folders to more structured document cases with ribbon ties or tuck-in flaps.
All folders are made to your specified dimensions and can be covered in cloth or paper to match an existing binding or house style. Blocking with a name, date or crest is available.
